Kombes Donald Simanjuntak, a police officer from the Jakarta Metro Police’s narcotics division, was one of the personnel who received a dishonorable discharge sanction for his involvement in a blackmail case against a Malaysian citizen at the Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP). The sanction, also known as “Pemberhentian Tidak Dengan Hormat” (PTDH) in Indonesian, signifies his dismissal from the force. This action was taken as part of the Indonesian National Police’s firm stance against violations.
Polri’s commitment to taking firm, proportional, procedural, and transparent actions against such misconduct was highlighted by Karo Penmas of the Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, in a statement released on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. The Police’s Internal Affairs Department (Propam) ensures continuous monitoring of the case, with the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) also overseeing the process.
Alongside Kombes Donald, another officer identified as Y faced a similar outcome, being dismissed for their involvement in the extortion case. The decisions were made following the ethical code of the police profession.
Trunoyudo confirmed that out of the three police officers who underwent the ethics hearing on December 31, Donald and Y received dishonorable discharges, while the proceedings for the third officer, M, would continue the next day, on January 2. Trunoyudo stated that a press conference would be held to announce the outcomes of all the hearings, including the one for M, whose duty was temporarily suspended pending the completion of the assessment.
